Meet the Core Team

What is the Core Team?

The Core Team is the leadership team within REV316. Each member has committed to bearing a portion of the responsibilities and workload associated with running REV316, while participating in periodic planning and administrative meetings. From coordinating events to preparing financial reports, securing event locations to sending out the monthly newsletter, the Core Team works behind the scenes to ensure REV316 is running smoothly.

Casey Kissel

President

Meet Casey, a left-handed native of North Huntingdon and an elementary educator. She is a lifelong Catholic who really came in touch with her faith during her undergraduate days at St. Vincent College. She’s been a member of REV316 since 2019 and now serves as President of the Core Team. Some of her favorite hobbies include watching movies, crocheting, and reading books in silly voices to her classroom. Her favorite animal is the Red Panda, and she is an avid fan of Veggie Tales. Casey serves on the Core Team because she sees the need for

solid and faithful community among young adults and wants to help create that for others.

Meet Mike, a cradle Catholic and native of Greensburg. He’s been an active member of REV316 since 2016 and now serves as the Vice President on the Core Team. Mike is a die-hard fan of hunting and Frisbee and has accompanying nicknames for both: One Shot and 711 (ask him why when you see him around). Mike’s favorite animals are Mountain Lions, and he would love to travel to Jerusalem and New Zealand someday. Mike is excited to serve on the Core Team so that he can help REV316 provide the spiritual and communal growth that all young adult Catholics should seek.

Collin Bisignani

Treasurer

Meet Collin, a cradle Catholic and native of Latrobe, PA. He’s been participating with REV316 since 2018 and now serves as the Treasurer on the Core Team. Collin enjoys playing or watching just about all sports and spending time hiking, bicycling, or skiing. When he is not outside doing these things he can often be found on the basketball court coaching or playing some video games at home. Collin’s favorite animal is the Bald Eagle, and he would love to travel to Colorado someday. He enjoys serving on the Core Team to help other young adult Catholics know they are not alone on their journey along the road to heaven.

Stephen Saxman

Secretary

Meet Stephen, a cradle Catholic and native of Plum. He's been an active member of REV316 since 2018. He found us shortly after graduating college, seeking the same community and close friendships he had at IUP's Catholic Student Association. In his free time, you can find him playing with his nieces and nephew, taking care of his aquariums, model railroading, playing video games, reading, or working on his novel series. His favorite franchises include Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokémon, Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, Puyo Puyo, Love Live!, and Star Wars.
And yes, he does play saxophone.

Sarah and Eric Shearer

Founders

Meet Sarah and Eric, the founders and former Chairpersons of REV316. Married in 2015, they have lived in Irwin where REV316 slowly grew from their living room. Together they enjoy knitting, hanging out with friends, and playing Settlers of Catan together. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys cooking, listening to podcasts, and reading C.S. Lewis books, while Eric enjoys woodworking, reading theology books, and smoking an occasional cigar with friends. Inspired by the community they experienced in college, they serve in REV316 out of a desire to provide young adults the ability to grow in their faith through authentic Christ-centered community. They now run White Tree Café in Irwin! Check them out!
